Dol-Y-Moch

On Saturday 16th March, 22 of our Year 4 and 5 children were given the amazing opportunity to attend a three night residential to Plas Dol-Y-Moch situated in Snowdonia, North Wales.  The children were very excited and nervous about their adventure and were ready to use the school values to tackle some great challenges!

All the children got to experience kayaking, beach scrambling, rock climbing, the famous night hike and challenge themselves to escape from the labyrinth. Both children and the staff had an amazing time, see what the children said below:

‘DYM was really good. I was scared but had a go. I learnt how to canoe.’ Adnan

‘ We did loads of activities and it made me make brave choices.’ Umme

‘It was really good, the best thing was getting dirty! I learnt to be more confident.’ Zuzanna

‘DYM was fun because you get to do different experiences such as kayaking and mountain climbing.’ Lucy

‘I enjoyed kayaking the most especially doing the DYM dive. This is when you dive into the water; it was freezing!’ Maks

‘The labyrinth was hard because we had lots of numbers and had to solve the clues to escape. I have improved my resilience.’ Hashim.

‘AMAZING! The challenges were tricky, but it didn’t feel hard, you just kept going and don’t stop until you achieve.’ Ahwais
