3AF - May Learning in Action

Science

In Science, we had a message from a rock band delivered! They wanted our help to find a material which they could use to sound proof their studio. We tested wadding, bubble wrap and polostyrene. We wrote back to them to tell them which material absorbed the most sound.

English

In English, we started reading our new book The BFG. We were really excited to have this book and couldn’t wait to start reading it. We looked at how Giant Country was described and used thesauruses to change the adjectives. We have written descriptions of Giant Country, The BFG and even created our own giants to live in Giant Country. As we read further into the book we learnt that dreams aren’t always invisible and caught our own dreams, in jars, to describe.

Maths

This half term in Maths, we have been learning to tell the time. We can change between digital and analogue clocks, tell the time to the nearest minute and can read and write 24 hour time.   

French

In French, Year 3 have been learning the names for animals and how they move. We have been playing games to practice our pronunciation.
