3AF - November Learning in action

In year 3, this month, we have been doing lots of exciting activities.

Stone Age to Bronze Age

Our topic has been focused on the transition between Stone Age and Bronze Age. We have learnt all about how Stonehenge was created and to get an idea of the time and organisation involved in moving the large stones we were set a task to move a brick from one side of the classroom to the other only using pens.

We were really excited to design and make Bronze Age inspired clothes. At the end of the day we even had a whole year fashion show.

 Science

In Science we have been looking at what we need to be healthy. We started by listing healthy and unhealthy foods and have started to look at the traffic light system used on packaging, which helps us know how much of a food we should eat.

 WOW Week

In our WOW week we were given a project to make something to sell at the Winter Fayre. We worked in groups to think of some different ideas and pitched these in front of the whole year group. From this we decided on three products, which we made and are excited to sell on our stall.

WOW week was also a chance for us to build on our team work skills. We took part in lots of different activities such as: trying to draw a famous painting when only one person from the group has seen it, building the strongest bridge and making a shelter in our Forest school area. We had to use all of the Joseph Cash values for these activities.
