April in Little Ribbons

Week Beginning 19th April

Our hook for learning this week is 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle to help investigate lifecycles.

There are lots of activities to engage the children, including a 'funky fingers' table to build up our fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination, picture matching cards, role play masks and lots of messy caterpillar print painting!

Key vocabulary being learnt this week:

Egg

Caterpillar

Butterfly

This vocabulary will be used during key activities across the inside and outside classroom to support the teaching and learning of the topic.

We are very excited about the caterpillars that arrived in Nursery this week.

We have been watching them grow and cant wait to see what they turn into?

Mrs Ahmed also brought in some tadpoles so that we can watch them in the water and wait for them to turn into frogs!

"They wiggle!" said Willow

"fish" said Kannes

"Wow a frog!" said Theo
