*Easter*

Wow what an exciting time we have had in April! Reception were very busy learning all about the Easter story together and learning new skills.

We started out learning about why Christians celebrate Easter and what it means. The children had the opportunity to talk about what they already knew about the season and share some ways that they celebrate Easter at home with their families.

We had lots of fun making our own chocolate Easter cakes. Once the chocolate had melted we took it in turns to mix in the cereal. We had to stir until the cornflakes were completely covered in chocolate. It smelt DELICIOUS and it was really hard not to have sneaky taste!

Next we scooped the chocolatey mixture into cupcake cases, added little eggs and left them to set! By home time they were ready to eat! Great work everyone, you'll be helping Fran make the school dinners next!

The highlight of the week was our Easter bonnet parade! All of the staff were so impressed with the extraordinary creations and it was clear that the children had worked very hard on them at home. We had so much fun parading them on stage and striking our best pose for the parents and the rest of KS1. Well done to Lily-Jayne, Hadya, Gurtej, Alannah-Rae, Aylannah and Lawson who all won prizes for their bonnets!

Some of us were very busy in the workshop this week making our own Easter bunny headbands. We had the be careful when using the scissors to cut out the ear shapes and had to think about the best way of joining the band together. Brilliant problem solving!

We had so much fun learning together and we hope that everyone had a brilliant Easter break. Don't forget to send in pictures of what you have been up to at home to reception@josephcash.coventry.ac.uk so we can stick them in your learning journals!
