March - All back together in Little Ribbons

Week Beginning 8th March

A big welcome back to all of our Little Ribbons. We are so happy to be back in our classroom altogether :)

Mrs Coleman is proud of how well everyone has settled back in - you all look so grown-up!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have got straight back into our learning and have enjoyed exploring all of our JC on Safari activities.

Our story this week is 'In The Jungle' by Axel Scheffler

 

The children have enjoyed listening carefully and joining in with counting all of the animals.

Can you remember how many Elephants there were?

What was your favourite animal?

 

 

 

 

On Friday we enjoyed dressing up as jungle animals!

 

 

 

 

 

 

All of our Little Ribbons liked making their Mothers Day cards.

The children chose their favourite flower template that they then decorated with paint using cotton buds.

 

 

 

Week Beginning the 15th March

 

Our story and hook for learning this week is; 

Keith the cat with the magic hat by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet

The children already love this story about Keith the cat and his funny ice cream hat and have enjoyed all the new activities we have in the environment.

We have ice cream moulds in the sand, different coloured play dough for the children to roll into balls and match to the ice cream cones, and our own ice-cream parlour!

 

 

Dressing up for Red Nose Day was really fun! We enjoyed watching Mrs Nelson get soaked as well on Zoom :)

Week Beginning 22nd March

Our story this week is Aaarrgghh Spider! by Lydia Monks

In the Little Ribbons environment we have a mini beast tuff spot with  sand and magnifying glasses and a dinosaur tuff spot, all to capture the children's attention and help them to explore through their interests.

 Little Ribbons really enjoyed the story this week. We are now very good at joining in with repeated refrains - Mrs Coleman had to cover her ears when we all shouted "Aaaarrgghh Spider!" but was so proud at how well all the children listened to the story with lots of interest and showing great progress!
