May Learning in Action

Little Ribbons has had a lovely May so far.  We've grown so much and are nearly ready to start nursery!

Some of the books we have been looking at as a hook for learning are;

Something beginning with Blue

This has really helped with our colour recognition; and to support our learning further Mrs Coleman challenged us to find an object of the same colour in nursery.  We were super good at this and our understanding is showing such progress.

Can you remember what was scary and black?

10 Little Ladybirds

We continue to practice reciting numbers up to 10 and this book gave us lots of opportunities to practise.  As a challenge some children were able to recognise numerals from 1-10!

Ten Little Ladybirds was also used for a 'Hook for Learning' and support an interest in Mini Beasts.  We've had such an exciting time going on a mini beast hunt and making our very own Bug Hotel!

Can you remember what mini beasts we found?

What did we put in our Bug Hotel? Why?

Outside Learning

The weather has been so kind and this enabled us to explore part of the outside area that we hadn't been to before. We practised our balancing and climbing; which really helped to promote our physical development.

For the rest of May we will be looking at 'Growing' and how we can show care and concern for living things and the environment.  Look out for our updates on Twitter @cashprimary that will show some special things we are going to grow!

We will be looking at the book Titch as well to help us think about how things grow.

Thank you to all the families who have sent in some lovely home learning.  Please continue to send in all those special moments to nursery@josephcash.coventry.sch.uk so we can add them to your child's learning journals.
