May Learning in Action
May has been a really exciting month for nursery. We've been learning all about mini-beasts and growing plants!
Let's take a look..
'Ladybird Moves Home'
As a hook for leaning we read about ladybird moving home and followed her on her adventures around the garden. This led us on to our very own mini-beast hunt around the garden; we found spiders, bees, worms, centipedes and lots of other creepy crawlies.
After our mini-beast hunt we made our own bug hotel; using bits or bark, grass, stones and twigs.
I found a worm, it's slimy!
Says David
In the classroom we have been doing bug printing, playing bug dominoes and drawing our favourite mini-beast.
We then went on to look at plants and how they grow from tiny seeds. This was really interesting and we even had a go at growing our own sunflowers!
To support our understanding we read 'Bodge Plants a Seed'
This helped us to think about what plants need to help them grow.
Can you remember?
