Our theme this week is growing and our supporting book is Titch by Pat Hutchins

We have had such a lovely week making our own cress heads and learning all about how plants grow :)

 

  

Week Beginning 10th May

This week our theme is all about small creatures and mini-beasts and our story to support our learning is Veg Patch Party by Clare Foges and Al Murphy.

There have been lots of exciting activities for the children to investigate and lots of opportunities to develop new vocabulary.

It has been such a busy week full of learning new things.

 

 

 

 

 

                                            The children are becoming more independent in their learning and when the adults scaffold new skills they quickly learn and achieve.

Week Beginning 17th May

Our story this week is Norman the Slug with the Silly Shell by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet and our over-arching theme is mini-beasts and small creatures.  There are lots of activities to support the children's learning!

Key Vocabulary this week is:

Mini-beast

Snail

Slug

Shell

 

 

New Skill:

With an adult scaffolding learning, it will support children to hold scissors correctly and make snips into paper.  We will practice this skill everyday and upload our efforts for all to see :)

As well as learning new vocabulary throughout the week,

there are extra challenges to get the children thinking,

and encouragement to answer why? questions....

Our story this week is 'Spot goes to the Farm' by Eric Hill. This will support our learning all about animals and change.

The children will be able explore the classroom for new and exciting activities; including a sensory farm tuff spot!
