Rainbow Fish in Reception

This week in Reception, we have shared the story, 'The Rainbow Fish'. We have been learning all about how to be kind to our friends just like the characters in the story.

The children have had lots of fun in the environment too. They have been challenged to go fishing with the rods to match the different sounds. It can be a bit tricky to attach the fish but the children kept on trying and were successful. The children were also inspired to draw their own scales and pictures of the rainbow fish. Have a look at the amazing writing from Isla and Nora.

Lily-Jayne and Liliana had lots of fun listening to the sea shells,

I can hear the sea. Put the shell to your ear and you can hear it too!

The teachers have challenged the children to use a pattern when creating their own fish. Mannat was brilliant at using two colours for her pattern,

Red and blue and red and blue!

In Maths this week, we have been learning about 3D shapes and their properties. Mrs Nettey challenged the children to find a 3D shape that was made from 6 squares,

It's a cube!
