Spring has Sprung!

Well Spring has officially sprung in 1NG! Everyone was so excited to return to school to see how much our bean plants had grown over the Easter Holiday. We carefully recorded our observations in our 'Bean Diaries' we are writing in Science. I wonder how big they will be by the  end of May?

We have started the new term spending lots of time outside learning in the warmer weather. First we had 'Explorer' day launching our new Creative Curriculum Topic 'Town and Country'. We spent lots of time looking at our environment and notices its features. We looked at aerial photographs of school and identified places on a map.

We have also been learning about wild plants and flowers. We are so lucky to have such amazing school grounds for us to explore and learn in. We found lots of wild plants in 'The Wildlife' area. We learned that the most common wild flowers are Daisies. They are thousands of them at Joseph Cash!

We discussed our findings on the log circle outside. Miss Gibbs introduced us to a new wild plant called 'Sticky Weed'. Guess what? Its sticks to you! Maybe you could spot some more wild flowers when you are out and about with your family?
