What a busy month!

December was a very, very busy month in class 1NG. Nearly every day the calendar had something major on it! In During December we took part in two Dress Rehearsals and two Performances of our concert 'Keeping Mr Inn in'. We had also had RE Week where we learned about the Christmas story. We had a 'No Pens Day' where all of our learning was active and practical. We visited our local Church, St Francis TWICE! The first time was to learn about 'Christingles' and the second time was to take part in a 'Crib Service'. We were made very welcome and enjoyed being part of the schools Wider Community. In the last but one week of the term we bought our Creative Curriculum topic, The Great Fire of London to a close by building Tudor Houses and then...SETTING THEM ON FIRE! The next day we launched our new topic on Explorer Day for after half term 'Significant People'. We can't say too much about that, as that's next terms Learning! On 'Science Day' the following week we continued our learning about 'Seasonal Changes'. We learned that Winter can be cold, dark and wet and a bit yucky! We cheered ourselves up with 'Christmas Around The World Day'. Year One were learning about how Christmas is celebrated in France. Did you know that people in France go to Church at midnight on Christmas Eve and then come home and have a massive Christmas Dinner, in the middle of the night? No, neither did we! That afternoon we invited all of you in to share in our AMAZING learning this term. It was fantastic to see so many of you. This very busy term was celebrated by our Christmas Party on the last day of term and a special visitor came to see us. Hmmm I wonder who that was?

It was so great to see you all come and share our learning for the term!
