Meet the Joseph Cash Primary School Governors

Melanie Harvey.  Chair of Governors

My name is Melanie Harvey. I am married with two grown-up daughters. I have spent most of my professional life in Coventry and I am passionate about every child accessing quality education and achieving their potential. For thirteen years, I worked at Hearsall Primary School, teaching across the primary age range but with a keen focus on the early years. Then I spent twelve years working for the local authority as an adviser for Early Years, supporting schools across Coventry in developing and sustaining high quality early years education.

I first came to Joseph Cash as local authority governor and am now a co-opted governor. Currently I am vice-chair of governors. I have high expectations of and aspirations for the educational experience children have at Joseph Cash and the progress that they make during the time at our school. I am proud of the children and the staff of Joseph Cash, what they are doing and achieving, and do all I can to support them.

Selina Reed ~ Parent Governor

Hello! My name is Selina, and I have 3 children who all attend Joseph Cash Primary School. I live in the local community, and I currently run a charity based in the heart of Radford! I am passionate about people and helping them to be the best they can be. The charity I work for aims to transform our community and the lives of local people by helping them move towards social and financial inclusion and employment/education. I firmly believe that people can be empowered to improve their lives through developing skills and gaining experience.

I became a school governor because it gives me the opportunity to work towards improving the life chances of children. I strongly believe that our children deserve the very best education we can provide for them, and I hope to ensure that the quality of teaching and learning provisions at Joseph Cash means our children are given the very best opportunities to thrive.
