We have chosen some Key Stage 2 pupils to be trained to become a Play Leader, to assist the support staff, who supervise the younger children during lunch time. Here are their thoughts about ‘What makes a good play leader?’ and the activities they offer during the lunchtime. We meet regularly to discuss their role, plan the timetable and to decide on what new activities they would like to offer our younger children.
Mrs Burnside and Mrs Cleverly, have led training for our Play Leaders. Here are some of our Play Leaders in action, enjoying their role at lunchtime and some pupil voice about their role:
‘It is nice being chosen and I get to communicate with the children and learn to understand others.’ Anu
‘Fun because I get to meet new children and play.’ Riley
'It is good, the children listen to you and find it lots of fun!’ Ahwais
