Jack and The Bean Stalk

On Monday morning, the children were very shocked to find our classroom in a big mess, they also found two large footprints. The children thought carefully about who might of left such large footprints and came up with some really creative ideas.

I think big foot did it

said Devontay. What a brilliant suggestion!

Miss Baker then found a book that had been left for us by the mysterious visitor, it was 'Jack and The Bean Stalk'. The children really enjoyed the story and they decided that it must of been the giant that had made such a mess in our classroom! Some children made WANTED posters incase the giant came back, they thought carefully about words they could use to describe the giant. What super writing!

Some of the children decided to use their measuring skills and measured the giants foot. They then traced around their own feet and compared them to the giants.

My foot is the shortest and the giants is the longest!

said Charlie.

Outside the children decided to measure their own beans, that they had grown using a measuring tape.

This one says 22 so it is the tallest and mine says 5 so it is the shortest

said Poppy.

Harley also noticed the changes in his bean

It used to be a seed, I added soil and water. Now it has leaves

said Harley.

The children finished their fantastic week of learning by practising relay races for sports day. They did a fantastic job and used their listening skills to make sure they waited until Mrs Johnson blew the whistle to run.

What an amazing week of learning!
