July fun in Little Ribbons
Week Beginning 5th and 12th July
Over our final two weeks in Little Ribbons our theme is all about Holidays!
To support this we have two books to share that will help develop our understanding.
Spot goes on Holiday by Eric Hill and Sharing a Shell by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks.
Key Vocabulary to support the children's learning is:
Holiday
Sea
Sand
Park
Friends
Home
To develop the children's skills, we have taken their love for making ice-creams and brought this to life through our very own ice-cream shop. The children have already enjoyed making ice-creams, using mark making to tick off their favourite flavour, used the tills to buy and sell ice-creams to their friends and even used the ice-cream moulds to make sand ice-creams.
The World
Everyday we have continued to observe our tadpoles and watched how they have turned from tadpoles into froglets and we are now so excited to share that the froglets have turned into frogs!!
Outside Learning
Little Ribbons favourite times are when we are outside learning. We enjoy going on a big walk around the playing field and through forest school to see if we can spot any birds, squirrels or maybe even the Gruffalo!!
The children have become very independent in their learning and help to water the plants everyday.
